My name is Saadia Gaston and I am the owner & primary teacher of
A&J Child Development
Group Daycare
I am a dedicated childcare provider with over 22 years of experience nurturing and educating children from ages 6 weeks to 12 years old.
My journey in childcare began when I was a little girl watching my mother, Beverly Gaston, as a childcare provider. My mother began caring for children in her home in 1985, and continued until 2000. As I got older, I graduated from Harrisburg High, class of 2003 and then attended Keystone Technical Institute where I got my Associate's Degree as a Childcare Specialist. During the time I attended school, taking night classes, I worked during the day at multiple childcare facilities where I discovered my passion for caring for young children.
In 2011, I took my commitment to the next level by opening my own Group Home Daycare business, Saadia Gaston Group Home Daycare. In 2020, I decided to change the name to A&J Child Development Group Daycare. The letters A&J stand for my lovely children Arian & Jayden. Over the course of 14 years in business, I have created a warm and welcoming space that provides both educational and emotional well-being for the children in my care.
I became a member of Keystone Stars, and achieved a Star 3 rating for A&J Child Development Group Daycare. I am an active member of the Harrisburg School District “Family Engagement Committee” and an Ambassador for the NAFCC “National Association for Family Child Care." I am an active member of my community, running annual Back to School Book Bag Drives, Thanksgiving Turkey giveaways and Christmas toy drives. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with God, spending quality time with my family, traveling, reading books and shopping.
With my passion and dedication, I have touched the lives of countless children and families, leaving an impact that I hope will extend far beyond my years of caring for children.
